LOGISTICS & WAREHOUSING

IT that supports the movement of goods—and the information behind it.

From receiving and scanning to packing, dispatch and customer updates, your teams depend on connected devices, reliable systems and clear ownership when something goes wrong.

DigiVista helps you assess the technology around those workflows, then scope the infrastructure, applications and support your operation needs.

START WITH THE BUSINESS

A warehouse is a connected operation.

A device problem at the picking station can become a dispatch delay. A missing stock update can become a customer-service query. The right IT discussion starts with how work moves between people, locations and systems.

COMMON OPERATIONAL PAIN POINTS

Where IT issues become business friction.

These are discussion points—not assumptions about your business. We review the symptoms, operational impact and system dependencies together.

01 · OPERATIONAL CHALLENGE

Scanners disconnect between aisles

A scan completed on the floor may not reach the application when connectivity drops. Operators can lose time retrying work or checking what was saved.

Where DigiVista can support

Assess wireless coverage, roaming, device settings and application connectivity across the actual working areas.

02 · OPERATIONAL CHALLENGE

Stock information needs repeated checking

Receiving, stock moves and picking records may sit in separate systems or spreadsheets, making discrepancies harder to investigate.

Where DigiVista can support

Review where each update originates, which system owns the stock record and what supported integrations or validation steps are needed.

03 · OPERATIONAL CHALLENGE

Labels and devices interrupt dispatch

Printer faults, incompatible labels, scanner configuration or a failed workstation can hold up a packing or dispatch desk.

Where DigiVista can support

Scope compatible devices, label-printing requirements, configuration records, support ownership and a practical replacement or escalation route.

04 · OPERATIONAL CHALLENGE

Customer updates depend on phone calls

Sales, dispatch and customer-service teams may have different shipment information, leading to repeated calls and manual status updates.

Where DigiVista can support

Map agreed milestones, capture the responsible update and assess a shared status view, notification workflow or customer portal.

05 · OPERATIONAL CHALLENGE

Managers spend time compiling reports

Teams may combine spreadsheets to understand pending orders, dispatch exceptions or device issues instead of working from agreed information.

Where DigiVista can support

Define operational KPIs, source ownership, refresh frequency and access before building management dashboards.

06 · OPERATIONAL CHALLENGE

An IT incident has no clear owner

When a network, device, cloud service or business application fails, several suppliers may be involved and escalation can stall.

Where DigiVista can support

Document the supported systems, service hours, incident priorities, supplier boundaries and escalation contacts.

HOW DIGIVISTA CAN HELP

Connect the right services around the problem.

You may need one improvement or a coordinated project. The proposal separates equipment, implementation, integrations and ongoing support so responsibilities are clear.

Warehouse connectivity

Office and warehouse LAN, Wi-Fi coverage, guest separation, secure branch access and configuration documentation.

AN EXAMPLE DISCUSSION

“Our scanners disconnect before the dispatch cut-off.”

This is an illustrative scenario, not a customer case study. Rather than immediately replacing every device, the assessment should identify where the interruption actually occurs.

  1. Locate the interruption. Identify the aisles, devices, shifts and application steps affected.
  2. Check the dependencies. Review Wi-Fi coverage, device roaming, authentication, application sessions and available error records.
  3. Test a controlled change. Agree a pilot area, validation steps and a rollback plan.
  4. Define operational ownership. Document who handles device, network and application issues after handover.
FROM ASSESSMENT TO SUPPORT

A practical delivery plan, with your team involved.

01 · Understand

Walk through the work

Review sites, shifts, transactions, devices, existing systems and the most disruptive problems.

02 · Scope

Agree the boundaries

Define the solution, supplier responsibilities, downtime windows, charges and acceptance checks.

03 · Validate

Pilot before rollout

Test the agreed changes against representative tasks, exceptions and access requirements.

04 · Handover

Make ownership clear

Provide agreed configuration records and user guidance, then activate the selected support coverage.

PREPARE FOR A USEFUL CONVERSATION

Tell us where the operation gets stuck.

You do not need a finished technical specification. A clear business problem is a useful starting point.

  • Number and location of warehouses, branches and offices.
  • Operating hours, shifts and critical dispatch or receiving windows.
  • Approximate users, scanners, printers, PCs and network devices.
  • Existing ERP, WMS, TMS or other business applications, where applicable.
  • Current issues, manual workarounds and intended improvements.
  • Integration access, supplier contacts and any required approvals.
QUESTIONS BEFORE WE START

Clear expectations, before the quotation.

Do we have to replace our existing WMS or ERP?

No. We first assess what you already use and the specific problem. Configuration, connectivity or a supported integration may be more appropriate than replacing a business platform. Any specialist vendor involvement is agreed in scope.

Can applications follow our internal process?

Yes. DigiVista applications can be customised around your internal processes. Requested fields, roles, approvals, notifications, reports and integrations are reviewed for feasibility, then scoped with testing and acceptance criteria.

Can you support several sites and extended operating hours?

We assess the locations, required hours, remote access and onsite dependencies before offering coverage. Response arrangements, visits and supplier responsibilities must be confirmed in the service agreement.

Does this include freight forwarding or specialist automation?

Freight forwarding has additional shipment, document and stakeholder workflows that need a separate discovery discussion. Conveyor controls, warehouse robotics, cold-chain monitoring and other specialist equipment require separately agreed expertise and vendor authorisation.

How is the work priced?

We separate assessment, hardware, implementation, licences, integrations and ongoing support where applicable. View indicative service fees, then request a written quotation for your environment.

Technical reading: Microsoft’s warehouse mobile-app overview illustrates why device configuration and the business application must be planned together. Product references do not imply OEM authorisation.
